Stunt Women in Wonder Woman – Doutzen Kroes, Brooke Ence, Samantha Jo and Madeleine Vall Beijner
The new Wonder Woman movie just swept the box office, and a major part of that success is Gal Gadot’s performance as the Amazon princess.
One of them, Madeleine Vall Beijner, is a Swedish Muay Thai fighter who recently retired from fighting. In a recent Instagram post, she revealed her small role as Egeria.
Doutzen Kroes
Having just wrapped up filming for Wonder Woman, Victoria’s Secret Angel Doutzen Kroes is looking to relax and enjoy her well-earned break. She recently shared a picture of herself on the beach in a bikini and proved exactly why she is such an iconic Victoria’s Secret model.
In addition to her modeling work, Doutzen also plays the Amazonian warrior Venelia in Wonder Woman. She has been a Victoria’s Secret Angel since 2008 and is renowned for her curvy figure.
She’s also a trained horsewoman and was able to take on the role of Venelia after weeks of training. She had to practice swordplay, horseback riding, and stunt choreography.
Alongside Doutzen, the film also features American Crossfit champion Brooke Ence and Swedish Muay Thai fighter Madeleine Vall Beijner. They were both flown out to London for weeks of training, learning stunt choreography and swordplay. They were then put to the test in battle. The entire experience was inspiring to them, especially after all the years they’d spent working with men.
Brooke Ence
Brooke Ence is an American Crossfit champion who has been kicking butts in the gym since she moved to Santa Cruz, California. She got her first taste of the CrossFit world with a regional competition in 2015 and quickly gained fans from her impressive physique.
Her CrossFit skills also helped her land a role as an Amazon warrior in the new Wonder Woman film, where she had to flex her muscle on a beach battle with intruders that came ashore. She told HuffPost that working with other women was a lot of fun, and she loved bringing out her strength in front of the camera.
Like many female athletes, her fitness journey started with a fear of being judged or looked down upon. But Ence says that you shouldn’t let these feelings get in the way of your own goals. She said that she tries to stay positive and work toward her goals, even when the going gets tough.
Samantha Jo
Samantha Jo (formerly known as Samantha Win Tjhia) is a stunt woman, martial artist, and actress. She’s a member of the Canadian Wushu team and competed in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and has worked in several films including Mortal Kombat: Legacy as Kitana and Scott Pilgrim, Man of Steel (as a stunt double), and Agents of SHIELD.

Madeleine Vall Beijner
Madeleine Vall Beijner is a former Muay Thai fighter who has traded her fists for acting.
In a recent Instagram post, Vall revealed that she has a small role in the upcoming superhero film. She’s playing a character from the comics, an Amazon Warrior known as Egeria, who sacrificed her life to seal a crack to the Underworld.
And her fellow cast members trained for months before the movie hit theaters, learning stunt choreography and swordplay in the process. She also took some time to speak about her experience on the set.
It was a great experience for her and she is glad she got to be part of it. She said that she will never forget it.
