The Maplestory normal Cygnus request is a boss quest that allows players to earn great end-game gear. To start the quest, players must complete Alex’s Promise and have a Dream Key.

Talk to Neinheart in Empress Road, Crossroads of Ereve. He will ask what you need to do next.

Level Requirements

In order to beat Cygnus, players must be at least level 225. This will ensure that you have the damage and attack speed necessary to deal with him. To get to this point, you will need to complete the Asura Crisis request.

This is a short quest line that should take less than an hour to complete. You will need to defeat the monsters that appear in the boxes scattered around the map and collect 3 Proof of Exam items.

Once you have completed this quest, you will be able to teleport to the Cygnus boss area via the Dream Key. From here, you can then fight the boss and receive his rewards. It is recommended that you use a ranged class to maximize your chances of success. This includes a damage-boosting link skill such as Wild Rage or Kanna’s Elementalism. This way, you can increase your damage output by 20% while attacking. This is important as it can make or break your chances of defeating a boss.

Map Requirements

If you want to be able to fight Cygnus in normal mode, you will need the following requirements:

You must be level 120 or above to start this request. You will also need to have completed all of the Black Heaven and Heroes of Maple Boss quests in order to access it.

The final requirement is to have a minimum of 15k main stats and 20+ attack power. This is necessary to avoid being wiped out by her most lethal AoE attack, the Dark Genesis, which can 1hko players.

Once you meet these requirements, you can go to Ursus at any time by using the Dimensional Mirror in towns or via the Boss tab in your party window. However, it is best to do this at a low population time such as early morning or late evening so that you can easily enter the dungeon without having to fight a lot of other players. It is also a good idea to bring a couple of VIP teleport rocks with you in case the spawns of this dungeon are too crowded for your liking.

Dream Key Requirements

Before you can begin the Cygnus request, you need to make sure that you have a Dream Key. To get one of these, head over to Knight Stronghold: Knight District 2 and enter the portal at the top of the map. This will take you to a zone where you can kill Dawn, Blaze, Wind, Night, and Thunder mobs. Each of these will drop an ETC item that can be crafted into a Dream Key.

Once you have a Dream Key, talk to Chief Alex and start the “Piercing Defenses” quest. Once you complete this, you will need to obtain 1 Cygnus Knight Emblem from Official Knight A or Official Knight B. Then you can enter the boss map and fight Cygnus.

Cygnus is a relatively easy boss to defeat at high levels. However, if you have a lot of damage fall-off and low HP, you may want to wait until your character is 210+ before you attempt this.

Time Requirements

Defeating Cygnus requires time and effort, and should only be done by players who are well-prepared. In addition to being one of the hardest bosses in Maplestory, she also drops better loot than the other Boss Fights, including the Condensed Power Crystal that sells for 43,000,000 mesos in Reboot World.

Before proceeding, make sure to bring a VIP Teleport Rock or a Premium ETC item. This way, you can enter the map faster and avoid getting stuck in a loop like in Root Abyss.

This request is also a good time to level up your Order Knight. Upon reaching level 30 you will unlock the Blessing of the Sprite link skill which gives your character a buff every time you complete Time to Prepare. Unlike other link skills, this buff only increases damage during boss fights and is easy to max out since most boss fights last a long time. This makes the Blessing of the Sprite a very useful buff for all Knights.
